Majora’s Mask is not your typical Zelda game. As a result, it’s often overlooked among the Zelda canon. With its Groundhog Day-esque mechanics, it forces you to think non-linearly as you traverse the land of Termina. There’s a sense of melancholy as you meet characters dealing with the impending destruction and are forced to revisit them over and over again. I never played the original game on the Nintendo 64, so I got to experience it for the first time on the 3DS. With the remake, graphics received more polish and some parts of the game were tweaked for the better. It all makes for a satisfying and memorable experience that’s worth your time.
